Australian Network of Government Language Schools – Home
Purpose of ANGLS
ANGLS is the Australian Network of Government Language Schools. It is open to participation by schools of languages, language centres and distance education providers throughout Australia that have a key focus on languages education.
The network brings together language education providers with a common agenda of providing high quality programs to school students who may not have the opportunity to study the languages of choice in their day schools or home schools.
ANGLS holds an annual conference, with the venue rotating among members from year to year. ANGLS conferences aim to:
- Share each school’s achievements and progress, in order to learn from each other and to improve language provision in each school.
- share information regarding policy, strategy and curriculum developments at national level and in each state/territory.
- share and strengthen our professional development initiatives to support leaders, teachers and support staff in our schools.
- review and improve school structures and processes for supporting quality delivery of Languages programs.
- identify collaborative projects that support improved student achievement.
For conference details, see the Conferences page.
